Vermont's Freedom & Unity Chorus Becomes An Allied Group Of The Peace & Justice Center
We are happy to announce that Vermont's Freedom & Unity Chorus is now an allied group of the Peace & Justice Center, a Vermont non-profit that works on the interconnected issues of peace; human rights; and economic, social, and racial justice. Being an allied group provides the benefit of fiscal sponsorship which permits the chorus to apply for grants and/or receive tax-deductible donations from supporters without having to go through the complex and costly process of becoming a non-profit at this time.
Vermont's Freedom & Unity Chorus applied to become an allied group of the Peace & Justice Center because their mission closely aligns with ours. Our proposal presented to the Board of Directors in January was met with great enthusiasm and was quickly approved that same night. From their website: "The Peace & Justice Center has a long history of supporting affiliated activist groups and their work...By utilizing our strong infrastructure, these volunteer-based groups can operate more efficiently and effectively and focus on creating change in the world." Changing the world is exactly what we plan to do!
To celebrate our success, we invite you to make a contribution to the chorus to get us started! You can donate by check, credit card, or a Paypal account. Please note that checks must be made out to the Peace & Justice Center, with our chorus listed on the memo line.
